It has been confirmed that a major counterfeiting ring worth £503 million was closed today with 73 arrests in China. The brands they were counterfeiting? Louis Vuitton and Coach. Coach had recently won a counterfeiting claim which was expected to result in no arrests.
Apparently they collected over 20,000 bags!
The counterfeiters arrested claimed that they turned to counterfeiting after their business collapsed during the recession.
