*Here it is! The moment you have been waiting for, or the moment you could care less about... My Top 2 Songs of 2011! I have gone through Adele, Patrick Stump, Jessie J, and Lana Del Rey, but who is on top? I can tell you that these two female artists really deserve my praise!
#2 Kelly Clarkson's “What Doesn't Kill You (Stronger): Whenever I needed a pick me up or inspiration I turned to this beautifully written track. Kelly Clarkson's “What Doesn't Kill You (Stronger)” follows in the footsteps of Christina Aguilera's “Fighter”, but this may just surpass it. Clarkson does not hold back when she is laying out the vocals for the track, each note is hit and she is able to bring the true message across. There are not many songs out there that make me scream at the top of my lungs, but that is exactly what I do every time I come across this song. With lines like “it doesn't mean I'm lonely when I'm alone”, I fell in love instantly. I heard that the track will be the second single off Clarkson's latest album; I hope that is true. An all-time favorite of mine.

#1 Lady Gaga's “Bloody Mary”: Are you really that surprised that a Gaga song is my favorite of 2011? Her album Born This Way is filled with exceptional club bangers and touching ballads. Lady Gaga is unstoppable right now, even if current single “Marry the Night”, is not the big hit I thought it would be. Besides the great singles, “Bloody Mary”, is a great moment for the album that many will not get to witness. When I first reviewed the album I thought the track was the best thing that Gaga has created to date, and I still think that. From the haunting vocals, to the religious lyrics, to the Monks chanting her name towards the middle, everything chaotic came together beautifully. The song will remain a hidden gem, it is unlikely that it will get the single treatment, but it won't stop me from enjoying the masterpiece. Paws up!

*2011 was a year for amazing music from the reigning kings and queens and artists barely trying to break out on the scene. My list may have been compiled of tracks you may never have heard of, that is an honest shame and a crime. Every song represents true talent, music that is not following the mold of almost every other song being played on the radio at the moment. The 15 songs I chose are my favorites of the year. You may not agree that they are the best, but I don't care, I enjoy them and will continue to do so until I get new material. 2012 should be another amazing year for music, I am eagerly awaiting new projects from some of my favorite artists, so they may just pop up on next year's list. Be sure to come back, I am creating my Top 10 Albums of 2011 list. Expect to see some familiar faces. Happy Holidays! :)
